My name is Misha Norvid and in 2006 I graduated from the University of Plymouth having studied Design Photography (as a rather but not too mature student).
I have spent most of my life on the island and consider myself an islander. I completed my Foundation in Art and Design at Highlands College and with the help of Glyn Burton I applied for and went on to study for a degree.
I would like to thank Vince Thorne for submitting some of my work to his website in order to document the ever changing face of Jersey.
I am currently living on the east side of the island and truthfully speaking this is where I feel most at home though as many islanders would probably agree we all have so many favourite places in so many corners.
The Face of Jersey has changed considerably in the last 50 - 60 years and my interest in capturing these changes didn't really start until my mid to late 20's.
The images that Vince has chosen from my work to exhibit are definitely documentary even if they are a little abstract but still I feel relevant to a life that exists upon this island.
As yet I am still to produce my more familiar work with which I graduated from University, which has been referred to as conceptual. The ideas are there but time and funding tend to hinder such projects so I shall call them a work in progress and will keep Vince posted with future developments.
If you have any comments or questions that you would like to put forward to me then please feel free to email from my email address in the credits section.
I hope you enjoy the images.
